Erroneous Notices

As announced by the IRS in Notice IR-2009-21, there was a scanning error at the IRS that resulted in some small businesses being sent notices to submit Form 941 Schedule B, even though these taxpayers already submitted these forms with their returns.

Any small business receiving one of these notices should resubmit their Form 941 Schedule B with the erroneous IRS notice to the IRS, as soon as possible. This will prevent the receipt of more erroneous notices on the same subject.

Any questions should be directed to the IRS or the taxpayer’s CPAs, professional tax preparer or other tax practitioner.
